James Hallett Qualifications

In the United States legal system, having the right attorney often means the difference between dealing with severe penalties and being able to move on with your life. James Hallett is a criminal defense attorney with many years of experience in the Southern California court system. A board certified specialist in California state criminal law, Jim Hallett spent nearly a decade working as a court-appointed public defender before opening his own private law offices.

Today, Hallett works with clients facing all manners of criminal charges — from assault to DUIs and everything in between — and occasionally takes on capital murder cases. Though the vast majority of his current cases are in Los Angeles County courts and deal with initial charges, he also has experience in federal cases and appeals. Jim Hallett has conducted over 100 jury trials during his career and has practiced in nearly every courthouse in Los Angeles County, Some trials conclude in as little as two days, while others may go on for months. It all depends on the charges, the evidence and the severity of the cases, among other factors. Under most circumstances, the goal is to reduce the charges and/or the severity of the penalty. Additionally, Jim’s years of working on capital cases have enabled him to identify sentencing issues and work to correct them.

If you or a loved one are in need of representation for a criminal case, please call us. If you are currently seeking an appeal, get in touch, and we can supply recommendations for your legal representation.
